Background
Northern Monk Brewing Co. in Leeds are one of the fastest growing drinks companies in the North, with sales doubling every year since inception.
With plans to triple production over the next two years and add a brand new rotary canning line they needed to increase their cold bloc capacity drastically to enable them to produce larger volumes and increase efficiencies. For this reason they launched a crowdfund campaign to help them finance this latest expansion. This turned out to be one of the most successful brewery crowd funding campaigns ever launched with them nearly tripling their funding goal.
In order to enable the 300% increase in capacity they approached SSV Limited for 8 x 100HL 2.0b DPVs and engaged us to install the new tanks along with the cooling pipework and provide attemperation system to control it all.
The tanks had to maximise the space available within the building. As such we worked along side Brian and the brewing team to ensure the designs integrated with the associated gantries and formed the most efficient use of space possible.
Each of the tanks were custom designed to meet the exacting requirements of the brewing team and ensure that they had maximum flexibility to allow the brewers to produce as wide a range of products as possible , while not compromising on cooling or losing efficiency.
As part of our initiative to help support the brewing industry, SSV Limited provided a pre-investment into the crowd funding campaign. This investment was a profit share from the order and demonstrates our dedication to the craft brewing industry while allowing us to invest in the future of our customer.
